Infocus M680 review

Infocus launched the M680 a octa core powered smartphone with 4G LTE support. This handset sports a 5.5 inch FHD screen and comes loaded with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Infocus M680 will be available in Gold and Silver colour options.  M680 is priced at ₹10,999.
Unboxing
Inside the box you will find the M680 handset, user guide, data cable, travel charger (5V~1A) and SIM tray ejector pin. SAR value as mentioned on the box : 0.342 W/Kg head and 0.811 W/Kg body.
Design
The Infocus M680 has got a very good build quality and finding. It is available in Silver and Gold colour options. Handset is packed inside a premium metallic body. Sides are golden colour with shiny silver borders. Front panel is white and rest of the body is golden colour. The handset feels different because of the size and is comfortable to hold.

Weight with battery is 158 grams and dimensions are 76.81 x 155.02 x 7.33 (mm). Power button and SIM tray is on the right side, volume rocker is on the left, audio jack on top and micro USB port + Speaker out vent at the bottom.
There are dual Mics. This is a dual SIM handset SIM 1 is a nano SIM slot and SIM 2 is a hybrid slot – you can either use a nano SIM in SIM slot 2 or a micro SD card.

There is LED notification and following sensors – Accelerometer, light, proximity, magnetic and Gyro.
Display
The M680 sports a 5.5 inch screen with FHD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. All Infocus handsets come with really good quality display. Colour reproduction, touch response and viewing angles are very good.

Memory
There is 2GB RAM and 16GB storage + micro SD support. On the first boot you will get about 10GB free internal storage space and 1.1GB free RAM. Apps are getting installed on internal storage.
Performance
Infocus M680 houses the 64 bit MediaTek MT6753 octa core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Performance is smooth and handset does heat up with heavy usage but the max battery temperature I encountered was 42 degrees (when playing games).

Gaming
I played Asphalt 8 in high visual quality mode. This game got installed on the internal storage. Game play was smooth and I did not find any other issues.
Camera
There is 13MP AF camera on the rear and a 13MP camera on the front. Camera quality is average and there is scope of improvement. The FHD video turned out great. Do check the sample images and video at the end of this review.

Others
Sound is loud and clear. In-call sound is also good. No issues found with 4G (worked on both SIM slots), 3G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Battery
There is a 2600 mAh non-removable battery. Battery backup is good you can expect 3 to 6 hours of continuous moderate to heavy usage on a single charge.

  • Ran Benchmark for 18 minutes battery % dropped by 5 and battery temp was 37 degrees.
  • Played Asphalt 8 for 17 minutes battery dropped by 9% and temp was 42 degrees.
  • Watched FHD video with full brightness (WiFi on) for 34 minutes battery dropped by 15% and temp was 38 degrees.
  • Handset charging (wall charge) 2 hours 57 minutes from 2% to 100%.
Verdict
The M680 looks promising, a very good handset in terms of build quality, finishing and performance. Camera quality is average and battery backup is decent enough. Overall a good package, for a price tag of ₹10,999.

YU Yutopia flagship registrations begin, launching soon

YU Televentures has started acceptingregistrationsfor its upcoming flagship smartphone, the YU Yutopia. Dubbed as the "most powerful phone on the planet," the YUYutopia is expected to come with a 5.2-inch quad-HD (2560x1440 pixels)display running on the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage.It is expected to sport a 21MP rear and 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. Android 5.1 Lollipop will power the smartphone, but it remainsto be seen whether there will be an option to switch to Cyanogen OS 12.1like the Yunique. It will be a 4G LTE capable smartphone, but that's the extent of our knowledge, whether it will have dual-SIM slots, microSD card slot is not known at present.At present there is no confirmation onthe specs, or pricing of the YU Yutopia from the company but this would be the first device priced above Rs. 10,000.

Registrations for BlackBerry Priv Begin


BlackBerry has opened registrations for its newest smartphone, BlackBerry Priv and interested customers can sign up for the device here.
The phone, to cost $630, isthe device BlackBerry is making its comebackwith in the tech-world. It will also be the first BlackBerry phone to run on Android. Earlier this month, the company CEO, John Chen officially showcased the Priv (albeit in a slightly fumbling manner) in a video.It has been officially confirmed that Priv will have a slide-out keyboard feature and a curved display that is reminiscent of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge.

Motorola has re-launched the Moto G 2ndGen in India, this is a dual SIM handset with 4G LTE support for ₹8,999. The olderMoto G 2ndGen 3G, if you may recall was launched for ₹13K and nowpriced at ₹10K.The new Moto G 2ndGen with 4G houses the qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad core processor (MSM8926)clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 305 GPU. This smartphone will be runningAndroid Lollipop 5 over a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The screen also comes with CGG3 protection.There is 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and micro SD card support. Moto G 2ndGen 4G also comes packed with an 8MP AF camera on the back with LEDsupport and 2MP on the front. Primary camera can shoot HD videos.

Intex Cloud Swift quad core powered with 3GB RAM for ₹8888


Intex Mobile official website has a new listing the Intex Cloud Swift a 64 bit quad core powered smartphone that is running Android Lollipop with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Cloud Swift is priced at ₹8,888.
Intex Cloud Swift sports a 5 inch screen supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. This dual SIM handset is using theMediaTek MT6735A 64 bit quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and using Mali T720 GPU. This chipset also supports 4G LTE.
Swift handset weight is 140 grams with battery and thickness is 8.9mm. Android Lollipop 5.1 runs out of the box with 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and 128GB external micro SD card support. An 8MP AF camera is packed on the rear with flash support and the front facing camera is of 5MP resolution.

Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. Intex Cloud Swift houses a 2500 mAh battery that as per the company gives up to 7 hours of talk time on a single charge. The handset will be available in Grey and Champagne colour options with nice texture on the back for ₹8,888.

Scandid helps customers compare prices and discover discounts across top e-commerce and local retailers.NEW DELHI: Country's second largest mobile handsets maker Micromax has said it has invested in Scandid, a savings discovery platform.Launched in June 2012, Pune-based Scandid helps customers compare prices and discover discounts across top e-commerce and local retailers, helping them make informed choices.Financial details were not disclosed.The Scandid investment further reinforcesMicromax's foray into application servicesand building an integrated mobile ecosystem, a statement said."We have always believed in providing value to our customers. Today, users do not want to switch between different appsfor shopping, be it online or offline. We have a roadmap to provide integrated services and leverage the mobile as a platform to converge these services," Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said.The Scandid app allows users to compares prices across 10 million products from 200 online merchants.
